Architecture is and will continue to be a brilliant form of art. Buildings tell stories about a country or its cities, culture and the way of life during the period it was built.

In this article, we look at some stunning works of architecture from across the globe.

  1. City of Arts and Sciences, Valencia, Spain.

La Ciudad de las Artes y Ciencias is a modern tourist centre in the city of Valencia and one of the 12 treasures of Spain. This complex boasts of jaw-dropping buildings such as L’Hemisferic, Museu de les Ciéncies Principe Felipe, L’Umbracle, L’Ocenogràfic.

It is also a recreational centre.

2. Canadian Museum of History, Quebec, Canada.

This architectural gem illuminates Canada's human history and cultural heritage. Notable artefacts at this institution include the Queen’s Beasts and the Moffat stick- the world’s oldest hockey stick.

3. Harpa Concert Hall, Reykjavik, Iceland.

This building was designed to set the stage for different events, ranging from yoga classes, public lunches, music school concerts and gala performances. It opened in 2011 and it’s one of the city’s iconic landmarks. It is also a cultural centre of Reykjavik.

4. Habitat 67, Montreal, Canada.

Israeli-Canadian architect Moshe Safdie designed this project as an experimental solution for high-quality housing in urban environments. Today, it is considered an architectural landmark and one of the most recognizable buildings in Canada.

5. The Broad Museum, Los Angeles.

Named after Eli and Edythe Broad, this museum is home to 2,000 postwar and contemporary artworks. It opened to the public on September 20, 2015. The museum is based in Los Angeles, California.

6. National Museum of Qatar.

Jean Nouvel got the inspiration for this museum from the desert rose crystal. This project opened publicly in 2019, located in Doha and is dedicated to the history of Qatar.

7. Cube Houses, Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Kubuswoningen is one of the most iconic attractions in the city. Designed by Piet Blom, visitors can learn more about the apartment by exploring the cube museum.
