Brussels-Based Design Studio PaulinePlusLuis Collaborates With Deknudt Mirrors To Create Paint Collection
PaulinePlusLuis, created by Luis Bellenger and Pauline Capdo is a design studio based in Brussels. The design studio creates objects, furniture and lighting projects driven by the daily curiosity to explore materials and manufacturing processes.
The Paint Collection came from a collaboration with a Belgian brand and manufacturer Deknudt Mirrors.
The project's inspiration comes from the mirror production process, which involves liquid silvering being poured into a glass place before it is fixed by a protective layer printed at the back.
Both design studios focused on the fluid aspect of the mirror as they see it as very poetic and magical. The idea was to paint a mirror on a glass plate and make an analogy between the liquid silvering and paint applied with a brush.
PaulinePlusLuis's work is driven by the will to bring an oneiric dimension to our everyday life through simple and poetic objects. They are inspired by moments that are part of our collective imagination, objects and shapes.
