Stockholm Design Week was held earlier this year (February 6 2023) and showcased more than 1000 furniture brands and design studios.

This September they will return with a pop-up edition that will showcase professionals as well as enthusiasts, a platform to network launch news and discuss ideas together. This September pop-up edition will offer a program filled with open studios, talks and showrooms.

It’s five days gathering that will also preview news for the 2024 fair happening in February.

What To Expect at This Pop-up Edition

1. Design Night

In this edition/event, Stockholm Design Week will launch a new initiative — Design Night that gives Stockholm’s design and interior design stores an opportunity to participate in this event and reach new customers.

The Design Night initiative is to promote Stockholm design & interior design stores and at the same time, create additional activities for the public during Stockholm Design Week with the goal of making design more visible in the city.

How It (Design Night) Works

Design, interior design stores, design hotels, design restaurants and bars are welcome to participate in Design Night. All participating stores will be found in the Stockholm Design Week app, the stores will be listed under Design Week in the app and the store will appear on the app map with a picture, information/data and a link to the website.

Note: The cost of participating is not free and will cost 2 500 SEK/$237.18/£184.99/215.90. Registration of stores should not surpass August 11, 2023, via this link.

2. Exhibitors

This pop-up edition will see, feature and experience more than 50 furniture, brands and design studios.

Who To Expect

1. Occhio

Founded in 1990, it has been regarded as one of the most innovative and fastest-growing companies. The company developed from the position of a German design icon to become an international lifestyle brand in the luxury segment.

2. Swedese

Formerly known as ESE-möbler, it was founded by Ekstron Yngse (who later became an essential figure in the evolution of the Scandinavian Modernism Movement), his brother Jerker and their friend, Bertil Sjöquis during the 1950s.

3. Cosentino Scandinavia

Founded by Eduardo Cosentino and Eduardo Justo, the global family-owned Spanish company produces and distributes innovative, high-value and sustainable surfaces for/to the world of architecture and design.

4. Gustaf Westman

Founded in 2020, Gustaf Westman Objects is a design studio by architect turned-designer Gustaf Westman. He’s known for his bold and playful collection of furniture, custom design pieces and homeware ceramics — all made by small carpentries in Sweden — with a refreshing takes on Scandinavian design.

5. Dry Studios

Owned by Jenny Kästel Tavossai, the studio’s focus is on design, art, interiors, graphic prints and objects. All projects are made to order with fine craftsmanship and mostly in solid wood, the pieces take some time to build with the delivery time estimated to be 8–10 weeks.

6. Axel Wannberg

Designer and master cabinet maker in Stockholm, the core vision lies in showing the strength and presence of fine craftmanship, through creating furniture that embraces a contemporary and sleek design with a nod to tradition and heritage. Alex draws inspiration from the rich heritage of cabinet making, architecture and art. Occasionally, he draws inspiration from materials like acrylic, metal and concrete.

7. OGEBORG

The Sweden family-owned business has been around for about 5 decades. The studio has helped interior designers, companies and architects to create beautiful and sustainable offices.
